UFA v. City,52 OCB 13 (BOC 1993) [13-93 (Amend. Cert.)] OFFICE OF COLLECTIVE BARGAINING BOARD OF CERTIFICATION -------------------------------- x In the Matter of UNIFORMED FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION -and-DECISION NO. 13-93 UNIFORMED MARINE WIPERS BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION DOCKET NO. RU-1141-93 -and-THE CITY OF NEW YORK -------------------------------- x ORDER AMENDING CERTIFICATION On June 23, 1993, Uniformed Firefighters Association (herein UFA), requested an amendment of its Certification 1 NYC DL No. 2 (as amended) in order to consolidate that certification with Certification No. 12-90 held by Uniformed Marine Wipers Benevolent (herein UMWBA), which has become affiliated with the UFA. In support of this request, resolutions were filed by Raymond Shiels, President of the UMWBA, and Charles Bohan, Secretary of the UFA. These resolutions indicated that the membership of each organization had approved the affiliation. The City of New York stated in its letter of July 2, 1993 that it did not oppose the requested consolidation. Our investigation shows that the requested consolidated unit would be appropriate for collective bargaining purposes. ORDER NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the powers vested in the Board of Certification by the New York City Collective Bargaining Law, it is hereby
Decision No. 13-93 Page 2 Docket No. RU-1141-93 ORDERED that Certification 1 NYC DL No. 2 (as previously amended) and Certification No. 12-90 be, and the same hereby are, combined and consolidated so as to constitute one bargaining unit (to be cited as Certification 1 NYC DL No. 2), consisting of the titles set forth in the Appendix to this Order, and it is hereby CERTIFIED that Uniformed Firefighters Association is the exclusive representative for the purposes of collective bargaining of all employees in the consolidated unit.
