RU-964-86 THE CITY OF NEW YORK --------------------------------- X DECISION AND ORDER On June 9, 1986, Civil Service Technical Guild, Local 375, District Council 37, AFSCME, AFL-CIO, filed its motion herein (amended June 16, 1986), pursuant to ยง2.19 of the Revised Consolidated Rules of the office of Collective Bargaining, to delete the obsolete titles of Fire Prevention Inspector, Senior Fire Prevention Inspector, Supervising Fire Prevention Inspector, and Principal Fire Prevention Inspector from Certification No. 26-78 (as amended), covering various engineering and related titles; and to add thereto the new titles of Fire Protection Inspector, Associate Fire Protection Inspector, and Administrative Fire Protection Inspector, in order to reflect the recent re-classification of these titles. The City's Office of Municipal Labor Relations objects to the inclusion of the title Administrative Fire Protection Inspector in this unit on the ground that the title is managerial. It appears to the Board that, with the possible exception of the disputed title, the requested unit is appropriate and accretion is proper. Accordingly, we shall add the undisputed titles to Certification No. 26-78 (as amended), delete the obsolete titles therefrom, sever so much of this case as relates to the title Administrative Fire Protection Inspector, and order a hearing on the question of manageriality. 0 R D E R NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the powers vested in the Board of Certification by the New York City Collective Bargaining Law, it is hereby ORDERED that so much of the instant case as relates to the title of Administrative Fire Protection Inspector be, and the same hereby is, severed, and a hearing ordered on the question of manageriality; and it is further ORDERED that Certification No. 26-78 (as previously amended) be, and the same hereby is, further amended by substituting the titles of Fire Protection Inspector and Associate Fire Protection Inspector for those of Fire Prevention Inspector, Senior Fire Prevention Inspector, Super-visinq Fire Prevention Inspector, and Principal Fire Pre-
