RU-880-82 AFL-CIO -and-THE CITY OF NEW YORK ------------------------------ x DECISION AND ORDER On November 5, 1982, Municipal Guild of Radio and Television Technicians (hereinafter the Guild) and District Council 37, AFSCME, AFL-CIO (hereinafter D.C. 37) jointly requested an amendment of Certification No. 34-75 (as previously amended) * by changing the name of the certified employee organization in order to reflect the merger of the former organization with the latter. The petition recites the circumstances of the election at which Guild members allegedly voted in favor of-affiliation with D.C. 37. In letters received in December 1982, several unit members objected to the conduct of this election and related matters. Fur-correspondence, statements, and exhibits were received from the same parties. At a conference held by this Office on March 10, 1983, it was agreed that another election would be held, with the technical assistance of the Director of Elections of OCB. At this election, held on April 21, 1983, a majority of the Guild members * Certification No. 34-75 (as amended by Decisions 27-79 and 50-82), covering 26 radio and television titles, was issued to Municipal Guild of Radio and Television Technicians.
DECISION NO. 11-83 2 DOCKET NO. RU-880-82 voted in favor of affiliation with D.C. 37. No objections to the conduct of this election have been received. The City's Office of Municipal Labor Relations, in a letter dated November 29, 1982, states that it has no objection to the requested change. Therefore, we shall grant the request to amend the certification. ORDER Pursuant to the powers vested in the Board of Certification by the New York City Collective Bargaining Law, it is hereby ORDERED that Certification No. 34-75 (as previously amended) be, and the same hereby is, further amended so as to change the name of the certified representative therein to "Municipal Guild of Radio and Television Technicians, District Council 37, AFSCME, AFL-CIO", subject to existing contracts, if any.
