RU-719B-79 THE CITY OF NEW YORK AND RELATED PUBLIC EMPLOYERS ------------------------------------X CLARIFICATION OF DECISION On February 4, 1980, we issued our Decision No. 2-80 herein, which substituted the new Competitive Class title of Research Scientist for the Non-Competitive titles of Research Scientist, Senior Research Scientist, and Principal Research Scientist (all including specialties) in Decision No. 26-78 (as amended). The latter titles had apparently been rendered obsolete as a result of reclassification ("broadbanding"), By letter dated April 2, 1981, the City's Office of Municipal Labor Relations, on behalf of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, requested clarification of that Decision, pointing out that the title of Principal Research Scientist (Biological Sciences), which was reclassified with respect to employees of agencies under the jurisdiction of the City Personnel Director, continued to be used for employees of the Corporation.

Therefore, since it was the Board's intent to delete only obsolete titles, it is hereby ORDERED that the title of Principal Research Scientist (Biological Sciences) be, and the same hereby is, restored to Certification No. 26-78 (as amended).
