RU-751-80 RU-757-80 LOCAL 237, IBT; DISTRICT COUNCIL 37, AFSCME, AFL-CIO; and LOCAL 144, SEIU, AFL-CIO; jointly -and-THE CITY OF NEW YORK AND RELATED PUBLIC EMPLOYERS -------------------------------------X DECISION AND ORDER On March 3, 1980, City Employees Union, Local 237, I.B.T., and Terminal Employees Local 832, I.B.T., jointly, filed a petition (RU-751-80) seeking to add the titles of Food Service Manager and Dietetic Technician (HHC) to Certification No. 7-78 (as amended), covering a supervisory institutional service unit. (This certification was later replaced by Certification No. 14-80). On April 11, 1980, Local 237, I.B.T.; District Council 37, AFSCME; and Local 144, SEIU, jointly, filed a petition (RU-757-80) seeking to add the title of Ultrasound Technician to Certification No. 62D-75 (as amended) covering a unit of medical, hospital and laboratory technicians. The Citys Office of Municipal Labor Relations has no objection to the requested amendment concerning the title of Food Service Manager but does oppose the requests for the remaining titles on the ground that they do not exist. Our investigation shows that the petitioned title of Food

RU-751-80 RU-757-80 Service Manager shares a community of interest with the titles in Certification No. 14-80 and that the other requirements for accretion have been met. On the other hand, our investigation shows that the titles of Dietetic Technician (HHC) and Ultrasound Technician do not exist, except possibly as office titles for certain employees serving in similar civil service titles. Thus, we agree in all respects with the Citys position, and our order herein shall so provide. 0 R D E R NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the powers vested in the Board of Certification by the New York City Collective Bargaining Law, it is hereby ORDERED that so much of Case RU-751-80 as concerns the title of Dietetic Technician (HHC) be, and the same hereby is, denied; and it is further ORDERED that Case RU-757-80, be, and the same hereby is, dismissed; and it is further ORDERED that Certification No. 14-80 be, and the same
