RE-101-79 SANITATION OFFICERS ASSOCIATION, LOCAL 444, SEIU, AFL-CIO --------------------------------X O R D E R The parties hereto having stipulated, in writing, that Certification No. 21-68 should be amended to reflect the reclassification of the sanitation officer titles included therein and managerial status of certain sanitation officers; NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the powers vested in the Board of Certification by the New York City Collective Bargaining Law, it is hereby ORDERED that Certification No. 21-68 be, and the same hereby is, amended by substituting the new title of Foreman (Sanitation) for the obsolete title of Foreman [in the Sanitation Service], and by deleting the title of Senior Superintendent because it is managerial, and by including those employees in the title of General Superintendent (Sanitation) who are “assigned to supervise a Sanitation District or similar function.. and are paid within the salary range for those assigned to
Decision No. 16-79 2 Docket No. RE-101-79 supervise a Sanitation District"; and it is further ORDERED that the obsolescent titles of Assistant Foreman and District Superintendent be deleted from Certification No. 21-68 when these titles become vacant, subject to existing contracts, if any; and it is DETERMINED that Senior Superintendents and those General Superintendents (Sanitation) "who are detailed to act in a higher level assignment and are paid at a salary which is higher than the range applicable to those employees assigned to Supervise a Sanitation District" are managerial within the meaning of the New York City Collective Bargaining Law, and, therefore, excluded from collective bargaining.
