RU-601-77 CIVIL SERVICE FORUM, LOCAL 300 SEIU, AFL-CIO -and-PAVERS AND ROADBUILDERS DISTRICT COUNCIL, LABORERS INTERNATIONAL UNION, AFL-CIO -and-THE CITY OF NEW YORK ------------------------------------x DIRECTION OF ELECTION The Unions herein having agreed that the employees in the title of Highway Repairer Trainee constitute an appropriate unit for the purpose of collective bargaining; And each of the Unions having stated that it wishes to be the exclusive representative of this unit; And the Citys Office of Municipal Labor Relations having taken no position in this matter; And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Board of Certification that the proposed unit is appropriate; And it also appearing to the Boards satisfaction that each of the Unions has demonstrated a sufficient showing of interest for inclusion on the ballot;
DECISION NO. 3-78 2 DOCKET NO. RU-601-77 NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the powers vested in the Board of Certification by the New York City Collective Bargaining Law, it is hereby DIRECTED, that, as part of the investigation authorized by the Board, an election by secret ballot shall be conducted under the supervision of the Board or its agents, at a time, place, and during hours to be fixed by the Board, among the employees in the title of Highway Repairer Trainee employed by the City of New York during the payroll period immediately preceding this Direction of Election (other than those who have voluntarily quit or who have been discharged for cause before the date of election), to determine whether they desire to be represented for the purposes of collective by District Council 37, AFSCME, AFL-CIO; by Civil Service Forum, Local 300, SEIU, AFL-CIO; by Pavers and Roadbuilders District Council, Laborers' International Union, AFL-CIO; or by none of them.
