RU-612-77 THE CITY OF NEW YORK --------------------------------X DECISION AND ORDER On July 21, 1977, District Council 37, AFSCME, AFL-CIO, filed its motion herein, pursuant to Rule 2.19 of the Consolidated Rules of the Office of Collective Bargaining, to delete the obsolete titles of Assistant Park Maintainer and Park Maintainer from its Certification No. 46H-75, covering various general maintenance titles; to delete the obsolete titles of Assistant Monument Restorer, Monument Restorer, Menagerie Keeper, Senior Menagerie Keeper, Supervisor of Menagerie, Park Foreman, and Senior Supervisor of Park Operations from Certification No. 461-75 (as amended by Decision No. 27-76), covering various parks and public works titles; and to add the new titles of Park Service Worker, Associate Park Service Worker, Park Supervisor, and Principal Park Supervisor to Certification No. 461-75. The Office of Municipal Labor Relations of the City of New York has no objection to this motion. Our investigation confirms Petitioner's allegations that the cited obsolete titles have been reclassified to the
Decision No. 21-77 2 Docket No. RU-612-77 corresponding new titles and their duties “subsumed under the respective broader titles to which the old titles have been reclassified.” Petitioner also points out that employees of the Department of Parks and Recreation in certain other titles have likewise been reclassified to the respective new titles. Since all of these employees were previously included in various collective bargaining units represented by Petitioner, and their reclassification enables them to be assigned to various parks operation and maintenance duties, they are appropriately includable in the “parks and public works unit.” Accordingly, we shall grant the motion herein. 0 R D E R NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the powers vested in the Board of Certification by the New York City Collective Bargaining Law, it is hereby ORDERED that the titles of Park Service Worker, Associate Park Service Worker, Park Supervisor, and Principal Park Supervisor be, and the same hereby are, substituted for the titles of Assistant Monument Restorer, Menagerie Keeper, Monument Restorer, Senior Menagerie Keeper, Park Foreman, Supervisor of Menagerie, and Senior Supervisor of Park Operations in Certification No. 461-75 (as amended), subject to existing contracts, if any; and it is further
