Sup. & Surr. Court Att. Ass. v. Jud. Confer., 2 OCB 19 (BOC 1968) [Decision No. 19-68 (Cert.)] OFFICE OF COLLECTIVE BARGAINING BOARD OF CERTIFICATION ------------------------------ x In the Matter of SUPREME AND SURROGATES COURT ATTACHES ASSOCIATION DOCKET NO. RU-24-68 -and-DECISION NO. 19-68 THE JUDICIAL CONFERENCE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK ------------------------------ x DECISION AND ORDER The petition herein seeks certification as the collective bargaining representative of employees in the titles of Confidential Messenger, Typewriter Operator, Confidential Clerk and Stenographer, Confidential Attendant, and Foreman of Laborers employed in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Kings County. Other employees in these titles are employed in the Supreme Courts of three New York City counties, the Surrogate's Courts of five New York City counties, and the Office of the County Clerk of New York County, all of which are parts of the Unified Court System of the City of New York administered by the Administrative Board of the Judicial Conference of the State of New York. The history of collective bargaining on titles unique to the Unified Court System has been on the basis of system-wide units. We see no reason to depart therefrom. Accordingly, we find and conclude that the unit sought herein, which is limited to employees in Kings County, is inappropriate, and we shall dismiss the petition. O R D E R. Pursuant to the power vested in the Board of Certification by the New York City Collective Bargaining Law, it is hereby O R D E R E D , that the petition herein be, and the same hereby is, dismissed. DATED: New York, N.Y. June 6, 1968. ARVID ANDERSON C h a i r m a n ERIC SCHMERTZ M e m b e r SAUL WALLEN M e m b e r
