Jury had found intoxicated accused guilty of attempted murder of his common law spouse. Court found classic symptoms of spousal assault, that accused was danger to the public when intoxicated, that accused was intelligent but very sick and needed professional help to deal with denial of any wrongdoing on his part
Decision: Sentence - Five year jail sentence reduced to four years, plus ten year firearms prohibition. Accused was give one year credit for seven months he spent in custody awaiting his trial
