Abstract: The Applicant had obtained a child support order by serving the respondent by registered mail. The Respondent was in Taiwan on business. The respondent moved to vary the order and cancel the arrears. The court considered the factors to be determined in security for costs applications. The fact that the Respondent did not ha full and fair opportunity to be heard in the first instance carried significant weight.
Decision: Application denied. Costs in the cause.
