Revocation of Local Policies
and Blanket Orders Concerning
Insider Reporting to Coincide with the Implementation
of
MSC Rule 2001-17 -
National Instrument 55-102 - System for Electronic Disclosure by Insiders
(SEDI)
The Manitoba Securities Commission has adopted MSC Rule 2001-17 - National Instrument 55-102 - System for Electronic Disclosure by Insiders (SEDI) (the "SEDI Rule"). The SEDI Rule becomes mandatory for all reporting issuers and their insiders effective January 21, 2002.
With the adoption of the SEDI Rule the Commission is of the view that certain current local policies and blanket rulings should be revoked to ensure that the SEDI Rule will operate as intended in Manitoba.
The Commission is rescinding the following policies effective January 21, 2002:
Local Policy 3.01, Part VIII, Insider Trading and Financial Disclosure Reporting Requirements;
Local Policy 3.01 Part II, Insider Trading Report;
The Commission has also issued Commission Order No. 3628 which revokes the following blanket orders effective January 21, 2002:
Commission Blanket Order 3/89, dated January 4, 1989;
Commission Blanket Order 889, dated April 25, 1995;
Commission Blanket Order 1638, dated January 13, 1997.
