ENFORCEMENT SUMMARY

In the Matter of The Securities Act
and in the Matter of Dean William SENTES

Charges:

On October 7, 2003, Judge Joyal of the Provincial Court of Manitoba accepted the guilty pleas of Dean William Sentes ("Sentes") to seven (7) counts of trading without registration contrary to The Securities Act of Manitoba ("Act").

Summary:

Commencing in or about February of 1999, Sentes acted as financial adviser to a husband and wife who were residents of the province of Manitoba. At all material times Sentes was registered in the province of Alberta, where he was employed. At all material times Sentes was not registered to trade in securities in the province of Manitoba under the Act. Sentes had previously been registered in Manitoba for approximately 6 months in the year of 1996. As their financial adviser, Sentes opened Accounts for the husband and for the wife through which he conducted mutual fund purchases for both, collectively totaling in excess of $110,000.00, as well as redemptions for the husband in the 1999 year.

Sentence:

Sentes was sentenced on October 7, 2003. Judge Joyal ordered a fine in the total amount of $4,000.00, allocated as $571.43 for each of Counts 1 – 6 and $571.42 for Count 7. Costs and surcharges were waived. Sentes was given time to pay to November 1, 2004.
