Accident and Sickness licence to be suspended for a period of 2 weeks and agent
required to complete the Life Insurance and Accident and Sickness Agent’s Code
of Conduct quiz and pay partial investigation costs of $500.00 based on
violation of Section 113 (2) Prohibition, no person shall engage in any unfair
or deceptive act or practice in the business of insurance and Section 375 (1) (a)
Misrepresentation, fraud, deceit or dishonesty, of The Insurance Act of
Manitoba; Section 1 – Interests of the Client, Section 3 – Legitimate Business
Interests and Section 4 – Professionalism, of the Life Insurance and Accident
and Sickness Agent's Code of Conduct. This agent was not licensed at the time
of the final decision, therefore suspension will not take effect until the
agent becomes relicensed.
