TAXATION OF COSTS - REASONS

MICHELLE LAMY, TAXING OFFICER

[1]      This is the taxation of costs owed the respondent following the judgment rendered on May 19, 2000 dismissing the appeal with costs.

[2]      On September 27, 2000 the respondent filed her bill of costs and asked that it be taxed without a personal appearance by the parties. On October 3, 2000 we sent a copy of the bill to the appellant, asking him to make his written submissions on the said bill.

[3]      On October 24, 2000 we received written consent from counsel for the appellant to a taxation of the bill of costs as submitted by the Attorney General of Canada.

[4]      In view of the foregoing, the respondent's costs are taxed and allowed in the amount of $3,115.90. A certificate is issued for that amount.
