Docket: IMM-441-98

BETWEEN:

FREDDIE H. BROWN and SHERRY EILEEN BROWN,

     Applicants,

     - and -

THE MINISTER OF CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION

     Respondent.

     REASONS FOR ORDER

MCKEOWN J.

[1]      The applicants seek a stay of departure orders made against them on March 18, 1998 and April 8, 1998, respectively. The applications for stay are premature and the Court has no jurisdiction to allow them, as set out in the Reasons of Justice Rothstein in Rajan v. Minister of Employment and Immigration, 86 F.T.R. 70, and followed by Justice Noël in Verich v. Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, IMM-811-96, (March 25, 1996).

[2]      Accordingly, the application for a stay is dismissed in relation to both applicants.

[3]      For the reasons stated by Mr. Justice Rothstein in Rajan, supra, in paragraphs 13 and 14, I am not prepared to certify a question of serious importance.
