IN THE MATTER OF THE

Calgary, Alberta,

applicant,

Canadian Air Line Dispatchers Association,

certified bargaining agent.

WHEREAS the Canada Industrial Relations Board (the Board), by order no. 11314-U dated September 7, 2018, certified the Canadian Air Line Dispatchers Association as the bargaining agent for a unit of employees of WestJet, an Alberta Partnership comprising:

all dispatchers employed by WestJet, an Alberta Partnership, excluding the Safety Investigators II, the Manager of Flight Dispatch, the Manager of Flight Operations Support and those above.

AND WHEREAS the Board has received an application from the applicant, pursuant to section 18 of the Canada Labour Code (Part I–Industrial Relations), seeking to amend the said order by excluding the Operations Duty Managers (e.g., Network Duty Managers and Operations Shift Managers) positions from the bargaining unit description;

AND WHEREAS the certified bargaining agent is not opposed to this application;

AND WHEREAS, following investigation of the application and consideration of the submissions of the parties concerned, the Board has determined that it is appropriate to grant the application.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Board hereby declares that the Canadian Air Line Dispatchers Association is the bargaining agent for a bargaining unit comprising:

all dispatchers employed by Westjet, an Alberta Partnership, excluding the Operations Duty Managers (e.g., Network Duty Managers and Operations Shift Managers), the Safety Investigators II, the Manager of Flight Dispatch, the Manager of Flight Operations Support and those above.
