IN THE MATTER OF THE

Swissport Canada Inc.,

applicants.

WHEREAS the Canada Industrial Relations Board (the Board), by order no. 11234-U dated March 26, 2018, certified the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers as the bargaining agent for a unit of employees of Swissport Canada Inc. comprising:

all ramp/ground handlers, mechanics and all ground equipment maintenance personnel, storekeepers, communications co-ordinators and operations agents at the international airports in Montréal (Dorval and Mirabel), excluding office staff, managers, supervisors and those above.

WHEREAS the Board, by order no. 11257-U dated April 24, 2018, certified the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers as the bargaining agent for a unit of employees of Swissport Canada Inc. comprising:

all groomers employed by Swissport Canada Inc., at the international airports in Montréal (Dorval and Mirabel), excluding office staff, supervisors and those above.

AND WHEREAS the Board has received a joint application from the applicants, pursuant to section 18.1(1) of the Canada Labour Code (Part I–Industrial Relations), seeking to merge the bargaining units in order nos. 11234-U and 11257-U to create one single bargaining unit;

AND WHEREAS, the parties agree that the new bargaining unit would be appropriate in the circumstances;

AND WHEREAS, following investigation of the application and consideration of the submissions of the parties concerned, the Board has determined that it is appropriate to grant the application.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Canada Industrial Relations Board hereby declares that the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers is the bargaining agent for a bargaining unit comprising:

all groomers, ramp/ground handlers, mechanics and all ground equipment maintenance personnel, storekeepers, communications co-ordinators and operations agents employed by Swissport Canada lnc. at the international airports in Montréal (Dorval and Mirabel), excluding office staff, managers, supervisors and those above.
