WHEREAS the Canada Industrial Relations Board (the Board), by order no. 10312-U dated September 12, 2012, certified the United Steelworkers as the bargaining agent for a unit of employees of Securitas Transport Aviation Security Limited;
AND WHEREAS, the Board has received a joint application from the applicants, pursuant to section 43(1) of the Canada Labour Code (Part I–Industrial Relations) (the Code), seeking a declaration that, as a result of a transfer of jurisdiction among trade unions, the United Steelworkers, Local 9554 succeeds the United Steelworkers as the bargaining agent for the said unit of employees of Securitas Transport Aviation Security Limited;
AND WHEREAS, the employer is not opposed to the application;
AND WHEREAS, following investigation of the application and consideration of the submissions of the parties concerned, the Board is satisfied that a transfer of jurisdiction among trade unions has occurred;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby declared by the Canada Industrial Relations Board that the United Steelworkers, Local 9554 is now the successor bargaining agent and, as such, has acquired all the rights, privileges and duties of the United Steelworkers with respect to the certified bargaining unit described as follows:
all pre-board screening officers and point leaders working for Securitas Transport Aviation Security Limited at the Montréal‑Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.
FURTHERMORE, the Board declares that the parties continue to be bound by the collective agreement applicable to the bargaining unit on the date of this order.
