IN THE MATTER OF THE

Swissport Canada Handling Inc.,

Saint-Laurent, Quebec,

applicant,

Canada Council of Teamsters,

applicant.

 

WHEREAS the Canada Industrial Relations Board (the Board), by order no. 10640-U dated October 16, 2014, certified the Canada Council of Teamsters as the bargaining agent for a unit of employees of Swissport Canada Handling Inc. comprising:

all groomers, ramp/ground handlers, mechanics and communications co-ordinators working for Swissport Canada Handling inc. at the international airports in Montréal (Dorval and Mirabel), excluding office staff, managers, supervisors and those above the rank of supervisor;

AND WHEREAS the Board has received a joint application, pursuant to section 18 of the Canada Labour Code (Part I–Industrial Relations) (the Code), seeking to amend the said order by including the storekeepers who are not presently represented in the bargaining unit;

AND WHEREAS, following investigation of the application and consideration of the submissions of the parties concerned, the Board is satisfied that a majority of the storekeepers wish to be represented by the applicant trade union and has determined that it is appropriate to grant the application;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Board hereby declares that the Canada Council of Teamsters is the bargaining agent for a bargaining unit comprising:


 

all groomers, ramp/ground handlers, mechanics, communications co-ordinators and storekeepers working for Swissport Canada Handling inc. at the international airports in Montréal (Dorval and Mirabel), excluding office staff, managers, supervisors and those above the rank of supervisor.
