IN THE MATTER OF THE

WHEREAS the Canada Industrial Relations Board (the Board), by order no. 10891-U dated October 21, 2015, certified Unifor as the bargaining agent for a unit of employees of Canadian North Inc. comprising:

all aircraft maintenance engineers and apprentices of Canadian North Inc., employed at the Edmonton International Airport, excluding stores, quality assurance/auditors, maintenance training manager, line maintenance manager and those above the rank of line maintenance manager;

AND WHEREAS the Board has received an application from the applicant union, pursuant to section 18 of the Canada Labour Code (Part I–Industrial Relations) (the Code), seeking to amend the said order to include aircraft maintenance engineers and apprentices working at the employer’s bases in Iqaluit, Yellowknife and Calgary;

AND WHEREAS the employer is not opposed to this application;

AND WHEREAS, following investigation of the application and consideration of the submissions of the parties concerned, the Board has determined that it is appropriate to grant the application;

AND WHEREAS the Board is satisfied that a majority of the employees in the bargaining unit determined to be appropriate by the Board wish to be represented by the applicant;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Board hereby declares that Unifor is the bargaining agent for a bargaining unit comprising:

all aircraft maintenance engineers and apprentices of Canadian North Inc., excluding stores, quality assurance/auditors, maintenance training manager, line maintenance manager and those above the rank of line maintenance manager.
