Summary:

On April 15, 2014, the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) issued a letter stating that the Ontario Minister of Energy (in a letter dated November 12, 2013) requested the OEB to examine and report on TransCanada PipeLines Limited’s (TransCanada) proposed Energy East Pipeline project from an Ontario perspective. That request, made under section 35 of the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998 (the Act), contemplated that the OEB would undertake consultations with local and Aboriginal communities, and engage and consult external experts.
