Ontario Energy Board

On January 8, 2015, Union Gas Limited (Union) filed an application with the Ontario
Energy Board (OEB) under the Municipal Franchises Act. The application was for an
order approving the terms and conditions of a new franchise agreement upon which,
and the period for which, the Corporation of the Township of Moonbeam is, by by-law,
to grant to Union the right to operate works and add to works for the distribution of gas
in the Township of Moonbeam for a period of twenty years, and for an order declaring
and directing that the assent of the municipal electors is not necessary. Union has a
franchise agreement with Township of Moonbeam (E.B.A 685, effective May 3, 1995)
which expires May 3, 2015. The proposed franchise agreement covers the same
territory as that covered by the existing franchise agreement.
