Summary:

On April 15, 2014, the Board issued a letter stating that the Minister of Energy (in a letter dated November 12, 2013) requested the Board to examine and report on TransCanada PipeLines Limited’s (“TransCanada”) proposed Energy East Pipeline project from an Ontario perspective. That request, made under section 35 of the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998 (the “Act”), contemplated that the Board would undertake consultations with Ontarians and Aboriginal communities, and engage and consult external experts.
