The National Energy Board’s (Board) current detailed route hearings are to determine the best possible route and the most appropriate methods and timing of construction for the new Trans Mountain Expansion Project (TMEP) pipeline. In its statement of opposition, Burnaby discussed six different sections of its lands, which it referred to as the: (1) Brunette Section; (2) Cottonwood Park Section; (3) Lougheed-Gaglardi Section; (4) Eastlake Section; (5) Shellmont Section; and (6) Tunnel Section.
