Summary:

On February 19, 2014, the Alberta Utilities Commission (the AUC or the Commission) received an application from the Village of Acme (Acme) and ATCO Gas and Pipelines Ltd. (ATCO Gas) requesting approval of a natural gas distribution franchise agreement (franchise agreement) for a period of 10 years. ATCO Gas also applied for a decision approving Rider “A” which collects franchise fees from customers in the Acme. The franchise agreement is attached as Appendix 1 to this decision and is based on a standard agreement which was approved by the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (predecessor of the Commission) in Decision 2003-065.
