Summary:

In this decision, the Alberta Utilities Commission must decide whether to
approve applications by ATCO Gas and Pipelines Ltd. (South) (ATCO) to construct the
Pembina Expansion Project, which includes the installation of the proposed Pembina Loop Pipeline and the proposed Lodgepole Crossover Pipeline to meet the future demand for natural gas in the greater Edmonton area. Having regard to the social and economic effects of the Pembina Expansion Project and its effects on the environment, and for the reasons outlined in this decision, the Commission approves the applications.
