In this decision, the Alberta Utilities Commission must decide whether it is in the public
interest to approve two applications by ATCO Gas and Pipelines Ltd. (South) (ATCO) for a new high-pressure pipeline in southwest Edmonton. The proposed pipeline, which ATCO refers to as the Southwest Edmonton Connector (SWEC), would be approximately 21 kilometres in length and located in southwest Edmonton within the Edmonton transportation and utility corridor (TUC) and along the Whitemud Drive road allowance.
