Copyright Board Commission du droit d’auteur Canada Canada [TRANSLATION] Ottawa, January 7, 1999 FILE 1998-UO/TI-19 UNLOCATABLE COPYRIGHT OWNERS Non-exclusive licence issued to Éditions du Renouveau Pédagogique inc. authorizing the reproduction of a painting by Lawren S. Harris

Pursuant to the provisions of subsection 77(1) of the Copyright Act, the Copyright Board issues a licence to Éditions du Renouveau Pédagogique inc. as follows:

(1) The licence authorizes the reproduction, in the French textbook Signatures 3, tome 1, of the painting North Shore, Lake Superior by Lawren S. Harris. The National Gallery of Canada published this work in one of its guides in 1988 and included it in its catalogue on CD-ROM. The textbook will consist of approximately 500 pages, and the number of copies printed will not exceed 10 000.

(2) The licence expires on December 31, 1999. The authorized reproduction must therefore be completed by that date.

(3) The licence is non-exclusive and valid only in Canada. (4) Éditions du Renouveau Pédagogique inc. will pay $108.10 to Vis*Art Droit d’Auteur inc., which may dispose of the amount as it sees fit for the benefit of its members. Vis*Art undertakes, however, to reimburse any person who establishes, before December 31, 2004, ownership of the copyright in the work covered by this licence.

(5) The coming into force of this licence is conditional on Vis*Art Droit d’Auteur inc filing with the Board a receipt for the amount of the licence, accompanied by an undertaking by Vis*Art to comply with the conditions set out in paragraph (4) above.
