Non-exclusive licence issued to the Canadian Coast Guard College, Sydney, N.S., authorizing the reproduction of “Chaudières marine, questions et réponses”, as translated by W.D. Ewart from “Marine Boilers Questions and Answers” by G.T.H. Flanagan and published in 1984 by Stanford Maritime, London, UK

Pursuant to the provisions of subsection 77(1) of the Copyright Act, the Copyright Board grants a licence to the Canadian Coast Guard College, as follows:

(1) The licence authorizes the reproduction of “Chaudières marine, questions et réponses” , as translated by W.D. Ewart from “Marine Boilers Questions and Answers” by G.T.H. Flanagan and published in 1984 by Stanford Maritime, London, UK.

No more than 500 copies of the work shall be reproduced.

The licence does not release the licensee from the obligation to obtain permission for any other use not covered by this licence.

(2) The licence expires on December 31, 2015. All textbooks must be manufactured by that date. All protected digital uses of the work must also cease by that date.

(3) The licence is non-exclusive and valid only in Canada. For other countries, it is the law of the country that applies.

(4) The licensee shall ensure that the following credit are prominently displayed with the work, in all copies of the books:

“Chaudières marine, questions et réponses translated from “Marine Boilers Questions and Answers” by G.T.H. Flanagan is used with permission under a non-exclusive licence issued by the Copyright Board of Canada in co-operation with Access Copyright, The Canadian Copyright Licensing Agency.”

(5) The licensee will pay the sum of seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750) to Access Copyright, The Canadian Copyright Licensing Agency, who may dispose of the said

amount as it sees fit for the general benefit of its members. Access Copyright undertakes, however, to reimburse the amount to any person who establishes, before December 31, 2020, ownership of copyright of the work covered by this licence.

(6) The coming into force of this licence is conditional on Access Copyright filing with the Board a Notice of Receipt of Payment and Undertaking, which confirms that the royalties, as specified in paragraph (5) have been received and that Access Copyright undertakes to comply with the conditions set out in same.
