via email: gilles.mcdougall@cb-cda.gc.ca Dear Mr. McDougall: Re: Re:Sound Tariffs (2019-2023) This letter constitutes the statement of objections of the Hotel Association of Canada (HAC) in respect of the following proposed royalties to be collected by Re:Sound for the Performance in Public or the Communication to the Public by Telecommunication, in Canada, of Published Sound Recordings Embodying Musical Works and Performers’ Performances of Such Works for the years 2019 and beyond, as published in the Canada Gazette on May 5, 2018:

Tariff No. 3.B – Background Music (2019-2022) Tariff No. 6.A – Use of Recorded Music to Accompany Dance (2019-2023)

The HAC objects to the proposed terms and rates of these tariffs and looks forward to presenting evidence in support of these and any other objections that might arise over the course of the Copyright Board proceeding.
