[1] On June 10, 2025, the Board issued Order CB-CDA 2025-037, which, among other things, fixed the date of July 22, 2025, as the date by which SOCAN was to make submissions in this proceeding, including answering certain questions posed by the Board.
[2] On July 4, 2025, SOCAN requested an extension of this deadline to August 29, 2025, on the grounds that “several key personnel within SOCAN, whose input is necessary to prepare complete and meaningful responses to the Order, are out of the office for previously scheduled summer holidays at various times throughout July and August.” On July 4, 2025, the Board issued Ruling CB-CDA 2025-054, granting the extension of this deadline to August 29, 2025.
[3] On August 15, 2025, SOCAN requested a further extension, citing the previously scheduled holidays of certain key personnel, unexpected challenges to retrieve data from archives, and an internal transformation of SOCAN’s business systems.
[4] The request for extension of time is granted. SOCAN shall file its submissions by no later than Tuesday, September 30, 2025. This will constitute the final day on which any party may present their submissions to the Board for the purposes of Time Limits in Respect of Matters Before the Copyright Board Regulations, SOR/2020-264.
