RULING OF THE BOARD

 

Proceeding: Non-Commercial Radio Reproduction Tariffs [CSI: 2018 ; CMRRA/SOCAN: 2020-2026]

November 5, 2024

[1] On October 28, 2024, in Notice CB-CDA 2024-086, the Board informed the parties that it would examine the proposed tariff for the years 2024-2026 along with the proposed tariffs for 2018-2023.

[2] On October 31, 2024, the Alliance des radios communautaires du Canada, the Association des radiodiffuseurs communautaires du Québec, and the National Campus and Community Radio Association (the “Associations”) informed the Board in writing that they were not notified with the proposed tariff filed in 2022 for the years 2024-2026 and, as such, did not file an objection. They are thus asking to be granted objector status in relation to the proposed tariff for the years 2024-2026. The Associations also provided context around the negotiation of the settlement agreement submitted by the parties for the period 2003-2023.

[3] On November 1st, 2024, CMRRA and SOCAN (the “Collectives”) wrote to the Board to express concerns about the Associations’ letter. They seek permission from the Board to respond to the Associations’ letter in two weeks’ time.

[4] The Collectives may respond to the Associations request by Friday, November 15, 2024.
