A Notice of Appeal and request for a stay were received on March 14, 2023 from Michel Maisonneuve and 1031590 Alberta Ltd. These appeals were with respect to the March 2, 2023 decision of the Director, Compliance, North Region, Alberta Environment and Protected Areas, to issue Water Act Enforcement Order No. EO-WA-39841 to Mr. Michel Maisonneuve and1031590 Alberta Ltd. for conducting unauthorized activities on land belonging to Darrel and Lorraine Reed located at NW and NE 12-072-20-W5M in the Municipal District of Greenview No. 16.
After receiving additional information from the Appellants regarding their stay request, on May 1, 2023 the Board advised that it had decided not to grant a stay.
In consultation with the parties, the Board scheduled a virtual mediation meeting for May 29, 2023. The mediation meeting was cancelled at the request of the Appellants and the Director as they were in discussions to resolve the appeal.
On September 29, 2023, the appeal was withdrawn.
Based upon the withdrawal of the appeal, the Board discontinued its proceedings and closed its file on January 19, 2024.
