Appellant – Berle Hebbes, Operator – EarthRenew Strathmore Inc., Location – Strathmore, in Wheatland County, Type of Decision and Date – Discontinuance July 2, 2021
A Notice of Appeal was received by the Board on September 29, 2020 from Berle Hebbes in relation to the September 22, 2020 decision of the Director, South Region, Regulatory Assurance Division, Alberta Environment and Parks, to issue Water Act Licence No. 00433625-00-00 to EarthRenew Strathmore Inc. to operate a works and to divert up to 2,124.72 cubic metres of water per year from Well GIC ID 1305269 located in SE 27-025-025-W4M for commercial purposes (power generation) near Strathmore, in Wheatland County.
In consultation with the parties, a mediation was held on January 21, 2021 by video conference. The mediation was unsuccessful. The Appellant advised that he did not want to continue with mediation and that he would like to proceed to a hearing. The Board scheduled a hearing by Webex video conference for July 15, 2021.
In an email dated July 1, 2021, the Appellant advised he was withdrawing his appeal. On July 2, 2021, the Board discontinued its proceedings and closed its file.
