A Notice of Appeal was received from the Eastern Irrigation District (EID) on March 26, 2019 with respect to the March 19, 2019 decision of the Director, South Saskatchewan Region, Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP), to issue Water Management Order No. WMO-2019/03-SSR to the Eastern Irrigation District for failing to maintain or repair works referred to in Water Licence No. 00071066-00-00, specifically an open cut ditch that conveys drainage water in a northeast direction, contained within a registered utility right of way on lands legally described as SE-16-021-18-W4M located within the boundary of the EID, in the County of Newell.
AEP advised on March 29, 2019 the Water Management Order was closed because the EID was unable to comply with the Order due to actions of a third party. On April 1, 2019, the Board received notice from the EID that the appeal was withdrawn, and on April 3, 2019 the Board discontinued its proceedings and closed its file in this matter.
