A Notice of Appeal was received on June 19, 2017 from Mattamy (Burgess) Limited in relation to the decision of the Director, South Saskatchewan Region, Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP), to issue Water Act Approval No. 00377078-00-00 to Mattamy (Burgess) Limited and Macleod Farming & Ranching Ltd. on May 26, 2017 authorizing them to permanently disturb 10.23 ha of wetlands and three ephemeral drainages, and the alteration of drainage to two wetlands at E½ 16-022-01-W5M for the Yorkville Development in Calgary.
On June 30, 2017, the Board received a letter from AEP advising the parties were in the process of scheduling a meeting to resolve the appeal and requested the appeal be held in abeyance. The Board granted the request to place the appeal in abeyance and requested status reports from the parties on their discussions. On September 29, 2017, the Appellants advised they resolved their concerns with AEP and withdrew the appeal. Based on the withdrawal of the appeal, the Board discontinued its proceedings and closed its file on September 29, 2017.
