Appellant – Howe Ranches Ltd., Operator – Howe Ranches Ltd., Location – Buffalo

 

A Notice of Appeal was received from Howe Ranches Ltd. on July 6, 2015 with respect to the decision of the Director, Alberta Environment and Parks, to deny a licence under the Water Act to Howe Ranches Ltd. for an irrigation project for lands located at N ½ of 9 and S ½ of 16-22-5-W4M because Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development deemed the land unsuitable for irrigation.

 

The Board held a mediation meeting on October 1, 2015 in Medicine Hat.  As a result of the resolution reached at the mediation, the appeal was withdrawn and the Board discontinued its proceedings and closed its file in this matter on October 2, 2015.
