Appellant – Cody Cuthill, Normtek Radiation Services Ltd., Operator – Secure Energy Services, Location – Pembina Area
A Notice of Appeal was received on December 1, 2014 from Mr. Cody Cuthill, Normtek Radiation Services Ltd., in relation to the November 24, 2014 decision of Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development (AESRD), stating that Mr. Cuthill, Normtek Radiation Services and/or its employees are not directly affected by Secure Energy Services’ EPEA application (#009-48516) for the Pembina area landfill that will accept naturally occurring radioactive materials.
The Board requested the Appellant provide more information on whether his appeal of the AESRD’s rejection of his statement of concern is valid. Upon review of the information provided by Mr. Cuthill and the Notice of Appeal, it appears the appeal is premature as AESRD has not yet made a decision with respect to Secure Energy Services’ EPEA application.
On January 28, 2015, the Board dismissed the appeal for not being properly before it, and closed its file in this matter.
