Appellant – Paul Klassen, Operator – Husky Oil Operations Limited, Location – near Jenner and the Red Deer River
A Notice of Appeal was received on January 21, 2014 from Paul Klassen, the landowner, in relation to the January 31, 2013 decision of Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development to issue Reclamation Certificate No. 00321082-00-00 to Husky Oil Operations Limited in connection with the Renaissance 06-09-022-09 well located near Jenner and the Red Deer River.
On March 11, 2014, in consultation with the parties, the Board scheduled a mediation meeting and site visit for June 3, 2014 in Jenner. The Board received a call on May 27, 2014 from Mr. Klassen advising he had reached a settlement with Husky Oil and was withdrawing his appeal. On May 28, 2014, the Board cancelled the mediation meeting and site visit schedule for June 3, 2014 and based upon the withdrawal of the appeal, the Board discontinued its proceedings and closed its file.
