Appellant – Hank Strokappe, Sweetgrass Farms Ltd., Operator – Devon Canada Corporation, Location – Falher, Type of Appeal – Discontinuance
On February 3, 2011, a Notice of Appeal was received from Hank Strokappe, Sweetgrass Farms Ltd., the landowner with respect to the September 21, 2010 decision of Alberta Environment to issue EPEA Reclamation Certificate No. 00268360-00-00 to Devon Canada Corporation for the Devon et al 4B Nville well located at SW 4-03-79-21-W5M near Falher.
The Board received a request on March 2, 2011 from Devon requesting the appeal be placed in abeyance to allow Devon to discuss with the landowner and inspect the site. The Board granted the abeyance and requested status reports from Mr. Strokappe and Devon by June 30, 2011. On July 14, 2011, the Board received an e-mail from Devon attaching a letter dated July 13, 2011 signed by Mr. Strokappe withdrawing his appeal. As a result of the withdrawal of the appeal, the Board discontinued its proceedings and closed its file.
