A Notice of Appeal was received from Robert Carpenter, landowner, on April 19, 2010 with respect to the March 2, 2010 decision of Alberta Environment, to issue Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act Reclamation Certificate No. 00263621-00-00 to Penn West Energy Trust for the Elk et al Pembina 8-14-49-5 well, located at SW 13-049-05-W5M, in Brazeau County.
The Appellant and Penn West entered into discussions and provided status reports to the Board on their progress. As no agreement could be concluded between the Appellant and Penn West, the Board scheduled a mediation meeting on October 13, 2010 in Drayton Valley. The mediation resulted in a resolution with work continuing and the appeal being withdrawn. On December 14, 2010, Penn West provided a final status report, and on December 16, 2010 the Board closed its file.
