Appellants – Stan and Pat Brennan, Lyle and Betty Smith, Aime and Bonnie Pigeon, and Gordon and Marilyn Keibel, Operator – Quartz Land and Developments Ltd., Location – near Stettler, Alberta, Type of Appeal – Discontinuance

 

Notices of Appeal were received from Stan and Pat Brennan, Lyle and Betty Smith, Aime and Bonnie Pigeon, and Gordon and Marilyn Keibel, on September 23, 2010 with respect to the August 25, 2010 decision of Alberta Environment to issue Water Act Licence 00244665-00-00 to Quartz Land and Developments Ltd. O/A Pheasantback Estates.  The Licence is for the operation of a works and the diversion of up to 5644.0 cubic metres of water annually for municipal purposes (subdivision) at NW 31-039-19-W4M, and will supply domestic water to a 110 lot subdivision near Stettler.

 

The Board held a mediation meeting on December 15, 2010 in Stettler.  As a result of the resolution reached at the mediation, the Appellants withdrew their appeals and on December 16, 2010 the Board closed its files.
