CERTIFICATION ORDER

                                                                                               

 

            WHEREAS the Union des écrivaines et écrivains québécois was certified under the Status of the Artist Act by the Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal on February 2, 1996;

            AND WHEREAS since April 1, 2013, the Canada Industrial Relations Board is responsible for the administration of Part II of the Status of the Artist Act;

            NOW, THEREFORE, the Canada Industrial Relations Board hereby confirms that the

UNION DES ÉCRIVAINES ET DES ÉCRIVAINS QUÉBÉCOIS

is certified to represent, for the purposes of professional relations with all producers subject to the Status of the Artist Act (S.C. 1992, c.33) throughout Canada, a sector composed of:

a.     authors of original French language literary or dramatic works intended for publication; and  

 

b.    authors of French language literary or dramatic works originally intended for the stage, radio, television, cinema or audio-visual media at the time of publication of the work in any medium and for that purpose only.

            AND that, for the purposes of section 28(2) of the Status of the Artists Act, the original date of the certification remains February 2, 1996.
