CERTIFICATION ORDER

                                                                                               

            WHEREAS the Directors Guild of Canada was certified under the Status of the Artist Act by the Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal on July 16, 2003;

 

            AND WHEREAS since April 1, 2013, the Canada Industrial Relations Board is responsible for the administration of Part II of the Status of the Artist Act;

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, the Canada Industrial Relations Board hereby confirms that the

DIRECTORS GUILD OF CANADA

is certified to represent a sector composed of all independent contractors, who are permanent residents of Canada or Canadian citizens, engaged in any production by a producer subject to the Status of the Artist Act, to perform the function of director, assistant director or first assistant director, excluding

a.     artists covered by the certification granted to the Association des réalisateurs et réalisatrices du Québec by the Tribunal on December 30, 1997; and

 

b.    assistant directors and first assistant directors covered by the certification granted to the Regroupement APVQ-STCVQ (now known as l’Alliance québécoise des techniciens de l’image et du son (AQTIS)) by the Tribunal on March 4, 2003.

           AND that, for the purposes of section 28(2) of the Status of the Artist Act, the original date of the certification remains July 16, 2003.
