CERTIFICATION ORDER

                       

            WHEREAS the Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal issued an order under the Status of the Artist Act dated January 16, 1997, as amended on September 22, 2010, certifying the Canadian Federation of Musicians / Fédération canadienne des musiciens, originally known as the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada;

AND WHEREAS since April 1, 2013, the Canada Industrial Relations Board is responsible for the administration of Part II of the Status of the Artist Act;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Canada Industrial Relations Board hereby confirms that the

CANADIAN FEDERATION OF MUSICIENS / FÉDÉRATION CANADIENNE DES MUSICIENS

is certified to represent, for pension purposes only, a sector composed of those members of the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada who are independent contractors engaged by any producer subject to the Status of the Artist Act to perform the function of music composer, excluding music composers within the scope of the certification issued to the Société professionnelle des auteurs et des compositeurs du Québec by the Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal on May 17, 1996.

            AND that, for the purposes of section 28(2) of the Status of the Artist Act, the original date of the certification remains January 16, 1997.
