CERTIFICATION ORDER

                                                                                               

            WHEREAS the Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal issued an order under the Status of the Artist Act dated January 16, 1997, as amended on February 17, 2010, certifying la Guilde des musiciens et musiciennes du Québec;

            AND WHEREAS since April 1, 2013, the Canada Industrial Relations Board is responsible for the administration of Part II of the Status of the Artist Act;

            NOW, THEREFORE, the Canada Industrial Relations Board hereby confirms that  

LA GUILDE DES MUSICIENS ET MUSICIENNES DU QUÉBEC

is certified to represent a sector composed of all independent contractors engaged within the province of Quebec by a producer subject to the Status of the Artist Act to perform the function of performing musician, conductor, arranger or orchestrator, except when these artists are represented by the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada (AFM) (now known as the Canadian Federation of Musicians/Fédération canadienne des musiciens) under the terms of the jurisdictional agreement between La Guilde des musiciens et musiciennes du Quebec and the AFM dated October 23, 1996.

            AND that, for the purposes of section 28(2) of the Status of the Artists Act, the original date of the certification remains January 16, 1997.
